AUTHOR VISIT INSPIRES YOUNG WRITERS

1st Dec 2010

Pupils at St Mary's Primary School, Lisbuoy, were given an early Christmas treat recently when well known children's author, Malachy Doyle, paid a welcome visit to the school.

The author of much-loved children's books such as ‘Big Pig', ‘The Dancing Tiger' and ‘One, Two, Three O'Leary' read a selection of his own favourite books, much to the delight of a captive young audience.
The Key Stage 1 and 2 children then had the opportunity to create their own unique stories in a workshop lead by the Carrickfergus-born author. Inspired by Malachy's love for writing and the written word, the children revelled in the opportunity to both write their own original stories and read them aloud for others.
