Maths Week

16th Oct 2020

To mark Maths Week 2020, our Primary 5 and 6 children were considering ‘Maths at Work’. This involved thinking about people who use maths every day at work and through discussion the children realised how long the list really is!

Following on from this, the children became architects - the challenge was to design a structure using 2D and 3D shapes that had both structural and aesthetic features.

Next, the children had to build their structure and evaluate their design thinking about practicality and durability. The children thought about how they could improve their design by adding weight support to make their structure more secure.
